1985 Leacock Medal - Love is a Long Shot - by Ted Allan

"Love is a Long Shot, the 1985 Leacock Medal winner by Ted Allan, made me smile more than most of the books I read this year.  I liked it because it was short."

Just over 170 pages, some blank space, lots of chapters, and rapid-fire dialogue.
Motoring through a pile of sixty-six books, I can’t help but feel a little relieved anytime I can knock one off in a single sitting.  This admission reminds me of the crazy concerns that can affect a reader’s relationship with a book.
It also causes me to think about the format of the novella.
